The MED MSMEs stocktaking seminar took place December 3rd, in the presence of representatives from the European Commission, European Union Delegations in partner countries, UfM representatives, Small Business Act Coordinators and representatives of the private and public sector from all countries. The objective of the seminar was to provide insights into the implementation of activities and share thoughts and ideas to orient the development of the Programme’s 2021 action plan.

The MED MSMEs programme builds on regional initiatives to further push forward the policy dialogue on MSME reforms whether for an improved internationalisation, more inclusive access to finance, a facilitated administrative approach, a more enabling business environment or for the empowerment of local actors and decision makers.
As such, the programme contributes to the priorities of the UfM (Union for the Mediterranean) Regional platform on Industrial Cooperation, and it is seeking to foster synergies and complementarities and to carry out collaborative events and activities with other regional initiatives including the following:
EU Neighbours South and East
The European Union's European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) aims at bringing the EU and its neighbours closer for mutual benefit and interest. It aims to help the EU support and foster stability, security and prosperity in its closest neighbourhood. The EU Neighbours portal seeks to raise awareness, increase knowledge and understanding of the ENP.

The External Investment Plan is a new EU initiative designed to attract more investment, in particular from businesses and private investors, into countries near the EU ('EU Neighbourhood') and in Africa.
